  • 1 pound Flank Steak or sirloin/skirt steak as substitutes
  • 2 cups Bell Peppers any color, fresh or frozen
  • 1 large Onion yellow or sweet onions preferred
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce low-sodium preferred
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced, fresh or powdered as a substitute
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger fresh grated or powdered
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar or honey/coconut sugar for a healthier twist
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch or arrowroot/potato starch as alternatives

Optional Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds sprinkle on top before serving
  • 2 tablespoons Sliced Green Onions for freshness

Cooking Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger, and brown sugar to create the marinade.
  • Thinly slice the flank steak and marinate for 15 minutes to 2 hours for best results.
  • In a skillet or wok, heat oil over medium-high heat and cook the marinated steak in batches.
  • Remove the browned steak and add more oil if needed to stir-fry the vegetables.
  • Stir-fry the bell peppers and onions for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  • Mix cornstarch with a bit of water to create a slurry and add to the skillet with remaining marinade.
  • Return the steak to the skillet and toss until well-coated; serve over rice or noodles.

Notes

For best results, avoid overcrowding the pan and cook the steak in batches. Consider storing steak and veggies separately when making ahead to maintain textures.
