For the Creaminess

  • 2 tbsp Almond butter Can swap with peanut butter.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract Adds depth to the flavor.
  • 1/4 tsp Salt Enhances sweetness.

For Adjusting Texture

  • 2-4 tbsp Water Add gradually for desired thickness.

Preparation

  • In a food processor, add the drained chickpeas, unsweetened cocoa powder, pure maple syrup, almond butter, vanilla extract, and salt.
  • Pulse the ingredients a few times to break them down before blending.
  • Blend on high for about 1 minute, stopping to scrape down the sides halfway through.
  • Slowly add water, one tablespoon at a time, until the mixture reaches a smooth and creamy, frosting-like consistency.
  • Transfer the hummus to an airtight container and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  • Serve with fresh fruit slices or pretzels.

Notes
