Instructions

  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with milk until just combined.
  5. Fill cupcake liners two-thirds full with batter. Bake for 20-22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow cooling completely before frosting.
  6. For frosting, beat together powdered sugar, softened butter, and heavy cream until fluffy; add red food coloring to achieve desired shade.
