  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix the chocolate cake mix and water until just combined.
  3. Pour half the batter into the baking dish and drizzle half of the caramel sauce over it.
  4. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of the caramel layer, then pour the remaining batter over everything.
  5. Drizzle melted butter evenly over the top.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out mostly clean. Let cool slightly before serving.
