Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for icing)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition; then incorporate vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Divide dough in half; add cocoa powder to one half for chocolate cookie dough.
  7. Scoop rounded tablespoons of both batters onto prepared sheets, spacing them two inches apart.
  8. Bake for about 12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft; cool on wire racks.
  9. For icing, combine powdered sugar with milk until smooth; dip half of each cookie into the glaze or spread it on top.
  10. Melt chocolate chips and drizzle over the iced half.
