  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • Black food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter until smooth; gradually add sugar until fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract.
  5. Combine dry ingredients alternately with milk until just mixed.
  6. Fill liners two-thirds full and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow cooling completely before frosting with whipped buttercream mixed with heavy cream and black food coloring.
