  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients, alternating with heavy cream until just mixed.
  6. Fill cupcake liners two-thirds full with batter and bake for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely before frosting.
  7. For frosting, mix powdered sugar with heavy cream and food coloring until smooth. Decorate cooled cupcakes as desired.
