  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan with butter.
  2. Arrange the sliced pears in the bottom of the pan.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter with brown sugar until bubbly; pour over the arranged pears.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar; add eggs and vanilla. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour batter over the pear mixture and bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.
