  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in the eggs until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together 2 tbsp granulated sugar with 2 tsp cinnamon for rolling.
  5. Roll tablespoons of dough into balls and coat each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  6. Place dough balls on prepared baking sheets about two inches apart and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden around the edges but still soft in the center.
  7. Cool on the baking sheet for five minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
