  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (or sprinkles)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix these dry ingredients into the butter mixture until just blended.
  3. Gently fold in chocolate chips or sprinkles using a spatula.
  4. Divide the dough into two portions and roll each into logs about 2 inches in diameter; wrap tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice chilled logs into rounds approximately half an inch thick and place them on parchment-lined baking sheets.
  6. Bake for about 10 minutes until edges are golden brown but centers remain slightly soft; cool on wire racks.
