  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually mix in the flour until fully incorporated. If using, gently fold in the chopped nuts.
  4. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, and place them on an ungreased baking sheet about two inches apart. Flatten each ball slightly.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  6. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  7. Dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.
