  • ½ cup vegetable oil

  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • Powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, mix granulated sugar and vegetable oil until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract and red food coloring.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Chill dough in the refrigerator for about an hour.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough, roll them in powdered sugar, and place on baking sheets about two inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until slightly set but soft in the center.
