  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • Gel food coloring (various colors)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three round cake pans with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then gradually add eggs one at a time along with vanilla.
  4. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk to the creamed mixture until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter into six bowls, adding different gel food colors to each.
  6. Pour colored batters into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely before frosting.
