  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix softened butter, milk, and eggs until smooth. Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Prepare the cinnamon filling by mixing brown sugar with additional cinnamon.
  5. Fill each cupcake liner with two tablespoons of batter, sprinkle with the filling, then top with another tablespoon of batter.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool before frosting with cream cheese mixture.
