  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 24 red M&M’s (for noses)
  • 12 pretzel twists (for antlers)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and stir in the vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  6. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
  7. Let cookies cool slightly before decorating with pretzel antlers and red M&M noses.
