  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, then fold in chocolate chips.
  6. In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth.
  7. Scoop out dough balls (about 2 tablespoons each) onto prepared sheets. Press an indentation into each ball and fill with about one teaspoon of cream cheese mixture before enclosing it back into the dough.
