  • 2 cups diced apples (preferably Granny Smith)
  • For Caramel Sauce: 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  4. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until combined. Fold in the diced apples.
  5. Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool before frosting with caramel sauce or cream cheese frosting.
