  • 1 cup crushed candy canes (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract; mix until fully combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and crushed candy canes (saving some for topping). Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto prepared baking sheets about two inches apart; top each with remaining crushed candy canes.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden; let cool on sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
