Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (toasted for extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Melt unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden brown and fragrant (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar and brown sugar with the browned butter. Mix until creamy.
  3. Beat in two large eggs one at a time until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in chopped pecans into the cookie dough.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls onto parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them two inches apart. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes or until golden brown around the edges. Cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.
