Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until just mixed.
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets about two inches apart.
  7. Bake for about 10 minutes or until lightly golden around the edges. Allow cookies to cool completely before icing.
