  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time along with the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  5. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets about two inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
  6. Let cool on baking sheets for five minutes before transferring to wire racks.
