  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar (sifted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two round cake pans with butter and dust with flour.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  4. Mix in milk and vanilla until smooth. Gradually add dry ingredients; mix gently.
  5. Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool.
  6. For frosting, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form; gradually add powdered sugar until stiff peaks develop.
  7. Frost cooled cakes generously, stacking them with layers of frosting in between.
