  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup chopped hazelnuts (toasted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs, milk, coffee, and vegetable oil until smooth. Gradually mix into dry ingredients until just combined.
  4. Gently fold in toasted hazelnuts.
  5. Divide batter between pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
