  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • For the caramel sauce: 1/2 cup unsalted butter, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, instant coffee granules, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat together eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and milk until creamy.
  4. Gradually combine wet and dry ingredients without overmixing.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For the caramel sauce, melt butter in a saucepan over low heat. Stir in brown sugar and heavy cream until smooth; add vanilla extract.
  7. Allow the cake to cool slightly before drizzling warm caramel sauce on top.
