  • ½ tsp red gel food coloring
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for filling)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Beat egg whites in a clean bowl until foamy; gradually add granulated sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  3. Sift together almond flour and confectioners' sugar, then gently fold into the meringue.
  4. Add red gel food coloring and fold until fully incorporated.
  5. Pipe small circles onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each.
  6. Let macarons rest for 30 minutes, then bake for 15-20 minutes until set. Cool completely before filling with buttercream.
