  • ¾ cup unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two round cake pans with butter and line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and sugar until well mixed.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and melted butter until smooth. Gradually add in the milk while whisking continuously.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined; fold in half of the raspberries gently.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between prepared pans. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely. Layer with remaining raspberries and your choice of frosting.
